More hacking

Okay y'all. If anyone here is a member of or watching feminist_fatale, they seem to have been hit by the same hacker who came after feminist_rage yesterday.

Another reminder, if a community you are in suddenly loses all of its entries and is replaced with a single entry with links in it, DON'T CLICK THE LINKS. Contact LJ Abuse, and let them know what happened. Get the word out that this is happening, and make sure your own journal is secure! Delete any old email addresses that may have access to your account, change passwords, and set a security question to prevent your password being changed.

I tried, but they have moderated posting, so it just got shunted into the moderation queue.

I did report it to LJ though...so hopefully they can suspend them as well just to keep people from clicking through.

I'm not sure. I never tried posting there before...I did post in feminist as well, cause I figured some of the membership should overlap.

I just put a post up in anti-fem as well. Since Lovecrafty was a mod at feminist_fatale I imagine there will be overlap there too. Not that I like anti-fem, but there are some folks who reside there that are okay folks, and I'd hate to see them get hacked/infected.

I have several of my old f_r posts stored on my computer; if we can't get the entries back, what do you think about asking people to re-post, if they can? That way we can at least get some substance back in the community.

I was thinking that we could cobble together posts from email notifications and the like (and its awesome that you have some stored elsewhere) and we can probably get some of it back. I don't mind doing the work.

Is there any way at all to trace the hacker? Also, I'm glad you posted this. You were the only Mod name I could remember.

I'm not sure. From the looks of things, this person or persons got access through one of our other mod's journals (something having to do with hotmail recycling lapsed email addresses) and made another hacked journal that was a member a mod as well. Its the only thing that makes sense. However, we don't have the resources to figure that out for sure, especially since LJ is looking into it.
