Yay! Have lots of fun and come back speaking awesome Arabic. Just remember that culture shock, for all its pop-psych sounding name is real, so expect euphoria, and then depression (which may include physical illness), and then normalcy. If you feel depressed try to break out of it by reminding yourself that you're there by choice, that you will go home, and then doing something fun. Breaking out of the feelings of alienation and dejection that you get in a study-abroad or other experience in another culture is the best way to avoid serious depression from culture shock. Studying abroad is really cool, update if you can.

I think we'll be two hours apart (but maybe one or three, I am bad with the time zone for Jordan) so I might be able to call you if I get a phone card so I don't eat all my money on my phone. Are you getting a prepaid phone? Incoming calls are free on them.
