The Department of Defense has identified 1,209 American service members who have died since the start of the Iraq war. It confirmed the deaths of the following Americans yesterday:

LARSEN, Cole W., 19, Pfc., Army; Canyon Country, Calif.; 272nd Military Police Company, 21st Theater Support Command.

McCONNELL, Daniel James, 27, Specialist, Army; Duluth, Minn.; 25th Infantry Division.

MILLER, William L., 22, Lance Cpl., Marines; Pearland, Tex.; Second Marine Division.
